Premature Nostalgia & Romanticizing the Fall Shift ☕🍂🧺🧸

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another issue!

In a few hours it will officially be the autumn equinox, signaling that we have entered the fall season. Not that it hasn’t already started, but it’s another it gives us a perfect excuse to celebrate!

I have to say that autumn has been creeping into Athens for the past 2 weeks, but today (the 22nd) brought the first real autumn rain! 𓂃゚ ⋆ ゚ ☂︎ 🍂༄˖° The temperature has dropped, and I cannot describe how grateful I am. If you didn’t know this already, fall is my favourite season and I already feel a premature nostalgia about it, like it has passed and I’m worried that it will fly by so quickly that I won’t absurd it.

To make sure we all slow down and savor every moment, here are a few ways to make this season feel rich, lasting, and fulfilling 🍂:

  1. Grab Your Favourite Hot Drink and Claim Your Corner at Your Comfy Cafe ☕︎

I know that you probably don’t need me to tell you this, but today I had my first hot chocolate of the season, and I can’t wait to try and drink new and more hot brews. You can pair your drink with a cozy afternoon at your favourite cozy cafe. I prefer to go to a book cafe that serves the best vibes.  Just sit there and enjoy the crispness of the autumn air.

2. Renew Your Fall Wardrobe ✩°。🧸𓏲⋆.🧺𖦹 ₊˚

It’s finally time to leave the stretchy summer tops and pastel colors and switch to a darker palette with warmer and fuller layers. Even if the weather in your city is taking its sweet time to cool down, bringing out your winter pieces makes the transition feel real. The change may be slow and torturous, but it’s worth every moment. Once you start wearing your favourite black mid-length trench coat over a mini skirt with tights and knee-high boots, you’ll feel like a totally new person.

And me, of course!

3. Dive Into Art ᯓ‎𝄞 ˎˊ˗𓂃🪶

Art is connected to many things; one of those includes TV shows, movies, books, and music.

If you haven’t already started watching witchy/spooky movies or shows, what are you doing? I guarantee you that once you start watching 1 film or episode per day, you’ll feel amazing.

And running through a Halloween film marathon (solo or with friends) is an instant mood booster!

And whatever I say applies to books and music.

I have started putting the dark-academia playlist on repeat since August!

And as far as books, you know what you want to read, and if you don’t, there are many guides or videos to help you choose from many options!
As for me, I started reading Gothic lit, and I must say I love it.

The vibe and aesthetic of Gothic lit hit you on the spot, and I feel rewarded every time.

But also don’t stay put on Gothic lit. You can explore other works like Macbeth by Shakespeare.

It’s the perfect time to start reading this famous tragedy filled with witches, prophecies and blood…

4. Go Out And Explore ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🍃˚.⛰️⋆☁️

One of the best activities that connect you with nature is taking either a short road trip or a bus to explore new spots. Even if you don’t drive, don’t hesitate to take the bus, even if it’s for an hour.
You will remeber it for a lifetime.

5. Stop And Smell The Flowers (or Leaves in this case!) :・༄°🍂🍁🍂° ༄:・

My last and I think most helpful advice is to stop and smell the flowers. For those who don’t know (I didn’t), besides being an iconic line from Madison Beer’s song, 17, it’s a reminder to slow down, relax, and appreciate the simple, beautiful moments of life.

Sit in your chair or bedroom and look outside the window. Even if your view is just concrete buildings (as it’s in my case), you should enjoy and be grateful to live such moments and remember that you will get a thousand chances in your life later.

You shouldn’t worry about not doing everything on your to-do list. You just need to sit down or lie on your bed, while drinking your hot drink, listening to your playlist, enjoying your life.

Because autumn is full of emotions, and you just need to feel them! 𑣲𝄞
