Hiii everyone and welcome to my first ever post on my blog!!!
Ahhhh, I’m so excited that I genuinely can’t describe you right now how I’m feeling. It feels like a dream come trueđ„č.
But instead of talking too much about what this blog is about (you can always check the About page or my IG and TikTok), so letâs just get started!
I think all of you will have noticed that there’s ongoing trend about 2026 being the new 2016 and that’s exactly what we are going to talk about in today’s post. And what better day than New Yearâs Eve? Iâm literally writing this on 01/01/2026, and honestly⊠it feels so right.
So to understand how this trend began at first place.
I think it’s not clear how this started (correct me if I’m wrong) but people just started posting about the 2010’s nostalgic era. How comforting this era felt and how music completely dominated it.I think all of us, once in a while, take a journey through our Spotify playlists, revisiting those 2010s throwback hits and that alone explain how powerful that decade was and how it shaped today’s music standards for those who grew up with it. From Ariana Grande powerful vocals and high notes, to nostalgic Justin Bieber songs and danceable beats from Coldplay, itâs needless to say that this decade defined a whole new style.
But music is not the only thing that feels nostalgic about then. With King Kylie making her return, it became even clearer that weâre reliving an era. Beyond her comeback it’s feels natural after all these years of minimal âclean girlâ beauty, to see a throwback to bold glam makeup that defined the 2010s. Eye makeup was everything back then, and even though Iâm not a makeup artist, I think we can all agree itâs making a comeback. Also thanks to Zara Larssonâs recent glam looks (and her makeup artist), the focus on eyeshadow is officially back. And honestly? Eyeshadow has always been my favorite part of my makeup routine.Â
I wonât go deeper into this because Iâm planning separate posts about 2010s music, fashion, makeup, and more, so stay tuned!
Fashion back then truly dominated. From the elegant Victoriaâs Secret runways to skinny jeans and knee-high boots. Now, I know it wasnât just thatâbut bear with me, Iâm not a high-fashion editorial girl. While I personally would never go back to skinny jeans, I do recognize that some people can pull them off with the right accessories. But knee-high boots? I LOVE them. And when I say love, I mean it. Mini skirt and knee-high boots is literally my personality.
Thatâs also another reason why I love that this decade is coming back. Most of it was amazing, and the fact that I was too young to dress like that back then, or I didn’t had the right clothes I but now it feels so reassuring. Itâs like the teenager inside me is proud of who Iâve become.
And letâs not forget the return of the Victoriaâs Secret runway. Iâll talk more about this in my magazine (shhâŠ), but just to give you a glimpseâit was amazing. Watching all those women being confident, sexy, and powerful felt so inspiring.
Beyond fashion and beauty, there was also a whole lifestyle aesthetic. We all remember the tumblr effect as it was a cultural event that shaped the life of most of teenagers back then. It feels so nostalgic, soft and lovely at the same time. And I think many of us who werenât fully part of it back then want to relive it now, to do it right this time. To live like the main character. From OG Instagram filters to the beginning of platforms and trends that later became massive, it was the start of so much.
And letâs not forget that 2016 is often seen as a cultural peak year, music releases felt like a phenomenon, and pop culture felt more spontaneous, expressive, and less filtered.
Last but not least, one of the reasons I love that 2016 is becoming a trend again is because this lifestyle is a huge inspiration behind starting this blog and my magazine. It feels so right.
I hope youâre as excited as I am. Please donât forget to share your thoughts about my blog and this first post, Iâd love to hear from you.
Love you all,
see you in another postđ
